Free Antivirus software

computer repairs exeter

Having tried most FREE antivirus software I know which ones are better then others, however most FREE antivirus do have there draw backs.

they often dont update as often as the paid for versions... this is quite an important factor due to new virus, worms etc being discovered on a daily basis. You can only be protected against the nasties if your Antivirus software has the latest virus definition database installed.

The pro for FREE Antivirus is? because it is FREE right? well yes this is true but depending on people's budget I would say it is better to pay for Antivirus software if at all possible, it really is worth paying that extra for peace of mind and protecting your valuable data i.e. pictures, word documents.... often too late when you get a virus and the virus eventually takes hold of your files and then you can not boot into windows!!

If this does happen then you need to recover the data by using specialised methods, at PC Response4u I am able to recover your valuable files so please contact me if I can help you.

If you are going to get a FREE Antivirus software then I found
Avira Antivirus to be the best in my opinion;
Very good on cpu/memory useage and does not slow your computer down like some paid Antivirus softwares I can think of
Good detection rate for viruses
interface is easy to use and looks ok

You do get pop up ads with Avia but all you have to do is click off these.

Screenshots can be found on this link screenshots

I will be posting up more FREE software to use in future blogs as well as paid software

introduction to PC Response4u

Hi to everyone,

computer repairs exeter

I just thought I would start a blog to offer people who use computers or laptops the opportunity to learn about some computer tips and tricks, these tips and tricks will be posted up varying from Antivirus software either paid or the best of the FREE software available today.

Also tips and tricks with Windows XP or vista or the new windows 7, wireless home networks and security for the home PC user.

Having been involved with computers for nearly 10 years I have tried most software's, operating systems and know which ones I like out of the bunch.... I hear you ask which operating system do I use?

If you know a little about computers yourself then you might be able to guess what I use.... a little clue "if it ain't broken don't fix it"

I am hoping that this blog will be informative to people who maybe have not long been using the computer and find it all a little bit too much, too complicated and so much to learn, with there being so many choices of computers, computer components, software to choose from it can be difficult... even more so when you get into troubles.

I will blog various topics in the new coming year of 2010 which will hopefully be informative, I wish all potential followers a happy and prosperous new year for 2010!

Please visit my website to see what computer services I can offer you in the new year of 2010!
